Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to FrequencyCat and its related services.

FrequencyCat is provided by Kamille Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., operating under the brand name Kamille Labs.

By using FrequencyCat, you agree to these Terms.

1. The FrequencyCat Service

FrequencyCat provides tools for exploring the relationship between images and sound, playing and exporting audio, viewing spectrograms and spectra, and optionally sharing sound puzzles through cloud services.

Local analysis and creation require no sign-in. When cloud functionality first needs an identity, we create a guest account linked to the installation to maintain puzzles, favorites, Paw Credits, and entitlements.

You may optionally link Sign in with Apple to restore Paw Credits, unlocked content, redeemed capacity, and cloud relationships that remain valid. Recordings, original images, and history stored only on your device are not backed up by this feature.

2. License to Use FrequencyCat

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use FrequencyCat.

Intellectual property rights in FrequencyCat, its website, software, interface, character designs, and built-in materials belong to Kamille Labs or the relevant rights holders, except for content that you lawfully own or are authorized to use.

3. Your Content

You retain any rights you lawfully hold in your original images, audio, and other content.

When you voluntarily use the cloud puzzle sharing feature, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, process, and manage the generated puzzle content only to the extent necessary to provide that functionality.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use and share the relevant content.

You must not use FrequencyCat to:

  • distribute unlawful content;
  • infringe another person's copyright, privacy, or other legal rights;
  • interfere with or disrupt the service;
  • bypass access controls, capacity limits, security mechanisms, or reward rules;
  • obtain in-app rewards through automation, fraud, manipulation, or other abusive methods.

4. Cloud Puzzles

Local favorites are on-device bookmarks. They do not use cloud favorite slots or upload the bookmark. Sharing a locally favorited puzzle does not automatically enable long-term cloud retention. Cloud retention is a separate choice subject to cloud capacity limits. References below to favorites retaining cloud audio mean long-term cloud retention.

For a puzzle you created and have not deleted, you can add it to Favorites again or choose to share it again. Favoriting does not reopen the public link. Sharing again reactivates the original link and starts a new public availability period. If the cloud audio has been cleared, recovery requires the original audio file to remain on your device.

When you voluntarily create a cloud puzzle, FrequencyCat uploads the generated audio together with technical information necessary to provide the service.

Your original image is not uploaded solely because you use cloud puzzle sharing. However, the spectrogram of the generated audio may preserve visual characteristics of the original image. Before sharing a cloud puzzle, please make sure you are comfortable with recipients potentially being able to infer or view that content.

Cloud puzzles are not intended to be permanent storage. Ordinary puzzles are available for a limited period, and the current availability period is shown in the App. Actions such as favoriting, stopping sharing, removing a favorite, or deleting a puzzle may affect how long the content remains available.

When the creator stops sharing or deletes a Cloud Puzzle, all recipients lose cloud access, including those with a favorite or personal retention period. Once the App confirms it is unavailable, it hides and clears the received content cache and keeps an unavailable entry that the recipient can delete. Copies independently saved or exported by other users cannot be remotely withdrawn.

5. Paw Credits and In-App Entitlements

FrequencyCat may provide Paw Credits, characters, favorite capacity, cloud puzzle capacity, or other in-app rewards and entitlements.

Paw Credits are non-monetary rewards used only within FrequencyCat. They:

  • have no cash value;
  • cannot be sold or redeemed for cash;
  • cannot be transferred between users;
  • are not financial assets or virtual currency.

The conditions for earning rewards, redemption requirements, Paw Credit costs, and available entitlements are determined by the rules currently displayed in the App.

We may reasonably adjust reward rules based on product functionality, service costs, security, or abuse prevention.

Permanent entitlements that have been validly granted will generally not be removed simply because an ordinary puzzle expires or is no longer shared, except where action is required because of fraud, abuse, system error, or applicable law.

6. FrequencyCat Is Not a Professional Measurement Tool

Spectrum, spectrogram, and similar features in FrequencyCat are intended primarily for sound exploration, education, creativity, and entertainment.

They are not calibrated professional measurement systems and should not be used as the sole basis for medical diagnosis, engineering acceptance, safety decisions, statutory measurements, or other decisions that may affect people, property, or regulatory compliance.

7. Data and File Backup

FrequencyCat is not intended to function as a permanent file backup or cloud storage service.

If an image, audio file, or puzzle is important to you, you should keep your own reliable copy.

8. Minors

FrequencyCat is a sound exploration and educational application intended for a broad audience and may also be used by children under the guidance of parents, teachers, or other guardians.

When minors use cloud sharing, public links, or content export features, we recommend that a parent or guardian help determine what content is appropriate to share and with whom.

9. Service Changes and Availability

We may modify, suspend, maintain, or discontinue parts of FrequencyCat when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, technical upgrades, product development, or other operational reasons.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep the service available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation of networks, third-party sharing platforms, device environments, or cloud infrastructure.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, FrequencyCat is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from networks, devices, third-party services, user content, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes may be communicated through this page, the App, or another reasonable method. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
