Privacy Policy

FrequencyCat is provided by Kamille Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., operating under the brand name Kamille Labs.

We aim to minimize the amount of data required to provide FrequencyCat. FrequencyCat does not require you to create a traditional account and does not require your name, phone number, or public social profile.

This Privacy Policy explains how FrequencyCat handles data in connection with local features, cloud puzzles, favorites, and Paw Credits.

1. Local Features

Core FrequencyCat functions such as image-to-sound generation, playback, spectrogram generation, and audio-file export can be performed locally on your device.

The App may store locally:

  • a history of content you have generated;
  • small thumbnails used to display that history;
  • temporary audio cache files;
  • App settings, local favorite bookmarks, and local state.

Audio you create and keep on this device is not automatically deleted when sharing stops, cloud access expires, or the App clears its cache. You can delete it yourself. Temporary downloaded audio from received puzzles may be removed by cache management.

Audio files that you explicitly save or export are not part of FrequencyCat's temporary cache and are not intentionally removed as part of normal cache cleanup.

2. Cloud Puzzles

Generated audio leaves your device only when you voluntarily choose to use cloud puzzle sharing.

To create, access, and manage cloud puzzles, we may process:

  • generated audio that you choose to share;
  • puzzle character or theme information;
  • a randomly generated anonymous installation identifier;
  • technical information necessary to create, access, and manage the puzzle;
  • timestamps and status information related to creation, access, favorites, stopping sharing, and deletion.

Your original image is not uploaded solely because you use cloud puzzle sharing.

However, a FrequencyCat-generated audio spectrogram may contain visual information derived from the original image. Sharing the generated audio may therefore indirectly reveal that image content to other people.

3. Accounts and Anonymous Installation Identifier

Guest use still involves a server account identifier and installation records.

We keep separate server account, random installation, and optional Apple identity associations. Identifiers alone do not authorize access.

This identifier may be used to:

  • recognize the same FrequencyCat installation;
  • maintain cloud puzzles created or received by that account;
  • prevent duplicate or self-referral rewards;
  • maintain Paw Credits and earned entitlements;
  • maintain favorites and capacity state;
  • protect the service against abuse.

It is not used to create a public user profile. Sign in with Apple does not request your name or email address. We do not collect your Apple password or payment card information.

4. Sent, Received, and Favorited Puzzles

FrequencyCat may store puzzle relationships associated with your server account in order to provide:

  • puzzles you have sent;
  • puzzles you have received;
  • favorite status;
  • puzzle access information;
  • Paw Credit rewards;
  • permanent entitlements you have earned.

Other users do not receive your real-world identity through these records because FrequencyCat currently does not require a real-name account or public profile.

5. Paw Credits and App Entitlements

To maintain Paw Credit balances and reward redemptions, we store the minimum records necessary to track rewards, redemptions, and entitlements.

Even after puzzle media has been deleted, we may retain limited records that are necessary to prevent duplicate rewards, preserve valid entitlements, support security or audit requirements, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Ordinary cloud puzzles are retained for a limited period. Their current status and availability period are shown within FrequencyCat.

Favoriting may allow a particular puzzle to remain available beyond its ordinary availability period. Removing a favorite may cause the content to return to a limited retention period. These permissions are revoked when the creator explicitly stops sharing or deletes the puzzle.

Stopping sharing or deleting closes public access and revokes cloud access and associated cloud favorites for all recipients.

Deleting also removes the creator’s entry. Revoked recipient favorites and personal retention periods no longer retain cloud media. Media becomes eligible for cleanup when public access has ended and no other valid retention remains. The App clears received image and audio caches after confirming revocation; offline devices must reconnect and check access before they can learn of the change.

Deleted information may remain for a limited period in protected system backups until it is overwritten or removed as part of normal backup rotation.

We may retain the minimum service records necessary for:

  • preventing duplicate rewards;
  • preserving valid entitlements;
  • service security;
  • dispute resolution;
  • compliance with legal obligations.

7. Sign Out, Uninstall, and Delete Account

Signing out revokes this device session without deleting cloud progress. An unlinked guest may lose access after discarding credentials. Uninstalling the App does not delete the account.

You can request deletion of a guest or linked account in Settings, Save and Restore. Sessions become invalid, sharing and recipient access are revoked, and account progress and cloud relationships are deleted. Independently exported copies cannot be remotely withdrawn. Signing out does not arbitrarily delete local creations.

For an Apple-linked account we also revoke the authorization. If the external service is unavailable, the App reports pending work. Only the encrypted credentials needed to finish revocation are retained, for at most 30 days, and are removed earlier on success.

Restoring progress does not restore recordings, original images, or history stored only on your device, or revive stopped, deleted, or unavailable cloud content.

8. Cloud Infrastructure and Service Providers

We use third-party cloud infrastructure to provide cloud puzzle transmission, storage, and related services.

We provide service providers only with data that is necessary to deliver the relevant functionality and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect that data.

Our infrastructure and service providers may change over time as the product and technical architecture evolve.

9. Minors

FrequencyCat may be used by children and students.

When minors use cloud sharing or public-link features, we recommend that parents, teachers, or other guardians help determine what content should be shared and with whom.

Parents or guardians may contact us regarding content or data associated with a minor under their supervision.

10. Your Choices

You can choose to:

  • use only local features without using cloud sharing;
  • stop sharing cloud puzzles;
  • delete cloud puzzles that you created;
  • remove favorites;
  • delete FrequencyCat and local data from your device;
  • contact us regarding privacy or data-processing questions.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as FrequencyCat's functionality, technical architecture, or legal requirements change.

If there are material changes, we may provide notice through this page, the App, or another appropriate method.
